About You

You're an experienced forestry or land clearing professional with 3+ years in the field, proven crew management skills, and the technical expertise to operate heavy equipment and felling techniques. You're equally comfortable mentoring a junior sawyer and performing quality control walkthroughs, and you prioritize safety and integrity even under tight deadlines.

What You'll Do

Here's what a typical day looks like:

  • βœ“Direct daily operations across 1-100 acre ranch clearing and cedar removal projects, owning site productivity and crew safety in real-time
  • βœ“Operate and lead by example on forestry skid steers, excavators, and chippers while ensuring equipment is used effectively and maintained properly
  • βœ“Train and mentor junior technicians on advanced chainsaw techniques, rigging, equipment maintenance, and build the next generation of sawyers
  • βœ“Perform final site walkthroughs to inspect slash management, erosion control, and ensure every job meets the Bear Claw Standard before client sign-off
  • βœ“Manage daily equipment inspections, coordinate field repairs, and communicate project progress and site-specific challenges to the office across Travis, Hays, Blanco, and Burnet counties

Requirements

  • β€’3+ years of professional forestry or land clearing experience
  • β€’Advanced felling and bucking techniques with expert sawyer skills
  • β€’3+ years operating forestry-specific machinery including mulchers, track hoes, and grapples
  • β€’Prior experience as a foreman, crew lead, or project manager in a field setting
  • β€’Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
  • β€’Must be 18 years of age or older
  • β€’US work authorization
